A tip is not included in the price of the trip but is always greatly appreciated. Your captain and crew work hard to make sure you have a great trip. They are not only responsible for your safety but also work as your servers, photographers, and tour guides. If you feel they did an exceptional job, 15-20% is customary in the industry, and it will be split 50/50. Tips are accepted in cash or Venmo.
We pickup and dropoff from the Savannah Marina on Wilmington Island. This is a 15 minute drive from downtown Savannah. The sailing is done on the Wilmington and Skidaway rivers. These are tidal rivers that weave through the marsh before reaching the ocean. We remain in protected waters and are surrounded by salt water marine life.
Since it’s a coastal city in the south, it can rain quite frequently in Savannah, especially in the summer. But don’t worry! We only have to cancel around 5% of trips due to weather! Your comfort and safety are our #1 priority. If it becomes clear that this is not possible due to the weather, we will let you know ASAP and you’ll receive a full refund if you are unable to reschedule.
Most days when it rains, it will rain at SOME point in the day in SOME part of the city. This means that while it may rain for a while on the southside at 3pm, it could be bright and sunny for your sunset sail! The forecast also changes regularly and quickly due to the coastal influence. Due to these factors, we keep a close eye on the weather starting a couple of days before. And because we don’t want to unnecessarily cancel your trip, we usually won’t cancel a trip more than a few hours before, or the morning of, the scheduled departure. If anything changes with your booking, we will get in touch ASAP!
Certainly! You are more than welcome to bring your beverage of choice. We kindly ask that you do not bring any glass for safety reasons. An exception to this rule can be made for white wine or champagne because, well, sailing and champagne go together like two peas in a pod. Please avoid red wine.
We want you to be comfortable, from bathing suits to dinner suits or anything in between. We ask that you remove your shoes before boarding the boat. When you look at the weather, prepare for it to be a few degrees cooler on the water on a windy day. If it looks like a chance of rain, it never hurts to pack a jacket just in case. We can usually avoid a passing shower, but we also have a covering over the cockpit or a comfortable cabin down below to wait out any passing showers
Absolutely! This is a great trip for the whole family.
We can accommodate most dogs. Please reach out and let us know prior to booking.
